Our Mission

Empower children and their families through health and wellness care and prevention

so they can achieve self-reliance and a positive future.

Shared Beat started in 2006 to fulfill a need for medical support in an educational reinforcement project, Safe Passage, serving the children living around the Guatemala City dump. Motivated by the lack of quality basic healthcare access for these children and their families, our work has evolved to focus on sustainable objectives. At the heart of these objectives are prevention, education and empowerment. The name Shared Beat symbolizes a sharing of your heart with others.
